The Magic Breakfast was
formed in June 2001 by Carmel McConnell, a well-known social activist,
author and entrepreneur. The first schools started participating in October
2001, and the Magic Breakfast is now providing 2,000 breakfasts to schools
each month on average, funded exclusively from donation and volunteer
support.
In September 2002, Magic Outcomes began work with their first client,
Pearson Education, who have placed managers on the Magic Outcomes programmes
during 2002/2003, and plan further placements during 2003 and in the future.
Magic Outcomes has a strong lead into a number of large organisations,
private as well as public.
In January 2003, a group of interested volunteers started to work with
Carmel to develop commercial activities, specifically Magic Outcomes social
training for business. This group pooled their considerable management
and development expertise to form a steering group to create the Magic
Outcomes range of programmes. The organisation is managed on a volunteer
basis at the moment, and has attracted skilled and experienced people
in all key areas:
Carmel McConnell - experienced and well-known change
activist, author and social entrepreneur
John Leyden - professional accountant
Bruce McVicar - professional funding advisor
Rachael Stock Anderson - leading publisher in business
titles for Pearson Education, with extensive contacts in the industry
Wendy Briner - Head of Coaching at Ashridge Management
School, author and family therapist
Hannah Azizollah
Anne-Marie Jonsbak - Branding & marketing consultant
and photographer
